Deconstruction Part 2..!x

This lesson i manipulated the jacket on a chair, then transefered the shape onto the mannequin to see if it would have a better outcome.

 

I created different shapes, some where stronger than others.

 I found it difficult to take off the structure i created on the chair and to move it onto the mannequin...At each attempt the structure fell apart.

 

 

 

 

I like how i created different shapes using the chair and mannequin... the different lines and draping.

Deconstruction Part 1..!x

This lesson we had to purchase a tailored jacket, and then unpick it and take it apart...to see the inside and other hidden fabrics and the structure and layers of the jacket.

 

 

 

 I was intrigued with the amount of construction and process that goes into making a tailored jacket...Some layers inside aren't visible to consumers.

Glue & Cloth Experiment...!

 

For this lesson we had to work as a group, we had to create a structure using a cloth,glue and cling film and wrap it around a chair. We stretched the material around the structure to form a solid form.

After a week the glue dried, we removed the cloth and cling film and used the stiff cloth and experimented on a stand and did sketches.

The cloth was wet from the glue, had to be cautious not to get it on the mannequin.

 

 

 

We worked as a group to come with different ideas to sketch.

 For this page in my sketchbook, i drew  a mannequin  shape and then cut it out and then drew my sketch on top.

 

 The more i sketched  the more i see an improvement.
